“The Dog is the companion book to Wilderness of Mirrors –  research into intelligence archives, conspiracy, counterculture, and the strange afterlife of government records. Built from years of Freedom of Information Act requests, it re-xeroxes and recontextualizes material on figures and subjects as broad as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra to the Process Church, and Michael Aquino. The attitude is simple: I found it, it’s mine. Less a neutral archive than an act of selection and possession, the book treats bureaucratic debris as raw material – closer to the appropriative logic of Richard Prince or Cady Noland than to conventional documentary practice.

The book came with a pack of trading cards, including one-of-one variants, shown alongside the work at Wilderness of Mirrors and consolidated again within the book: classified histories and cultural paranoia reformatted as collectibles.”
